connections between all things

"Permaculture principles focus on thoughtful designs for small- scale intensive systems which are labour efficient and which use biological resources instead of fossil fuels. Designs stress ecological connections, and closed energy and material loops. The core of permaculture is design and the working relationships and connections between all things."

it is possible to create buildings that are truly fitted to people

If it is possible to create buildings that are truly fitted to people - and it is - then why is the well-being of people not central to our ethics as designers?

deathless food, immortal food...

•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•
The challenge though is that how do you distinguish real food, because now you have all of these edible food-like substances on the shelves, the ones that carry the health claims... These are products of food science, the stuff in the middle of the supermarket, the stuff that doesn't go bad for a year - deathless food, immortal food... The insects the bacteria, they're not interested in it because it has no nutritional value for them.

You can't underestimate [the Food Industry's] ability to turn any critique into a marketing strategy. So I've had to update my rules... My new suggestion is that if you want to avoid [unhealthy processed food], simply don't buy any food you've ever seen advertised. 94% of all ads for food go towards processed food, I mean the broccoli growers don't have money for ad budgets. The real food is not being advertised and that's all you need to know... Eat real food. Not too much. Mostly plants."
